About Australia Home Media

Australia Home Media was established by Mr. Gang Wei, an independent film producer, and Dr. Ming Xian Su, a historian, with the aim of promoting multiculturalism and Australian values. They achieve this by conducting studies and interviews with both ordinary and extraordinary migrants who have made Australia their home, including gold miners from 200 years ago to present-day migrants. The ultimate objective of Australia Home Media is to facilitate the integration of migrants, particularly new arrivals, into mainstream Australian society by fostering their understanding of Australian values, celebrating diversity, and encouraging their active participation in the country's development.

The Australia Home Programs
Australia Home is a video series that is regularly published on both YouTube and Bilibili, a popular platform in China. Each episode is approximately 30 minutes in length and focuses on the stories of Chinese migrants who have made Australia home and contributed to Society, span from the 19th century to the present day. Historic stories are based on the research work of Dr. Su.

We also cover current affairs that are of interest to the community.

Although the series is still gaining momentum, the feedback we have received thus far has been very encouraging, and the shows have been well-received.

Our Vision
Australia Home Media is committed to improving our existing video series while also expanding our program offerings in order to find more and better ways to tell our stories.

Currently, we are developing a new program that will highlight the interesting sites and legends of Queensland/Brisbane while also weaving in the stories of our subjects, with the aim of taking our programs to a new level.

With Brisbane having been awarded the right to host the 2032 Olympics, it will become increasingly important as a focus of attention worldwide, and we at Australia Home Media see our role as being able to help introduce this beautiful city to the world through our stories.

In the long term, our focus is also on expanding our coverage to areas where we can assist migrants in settling in Australia. For instance, interviews with election candidates in order to help migrants with the voting process.

We need your support
At present, Mr. Gang Wei and Dr. Ming Xian Su are working on the Australia Home project on a voluntary basis. Apart from moral support, we are also in need of financial support to cover the following areas:

  • Travel expenses to film on-site footage and capture people in their living and working environments
  • Creating English transcripts and subtitles for our shows to expand our audience base to non-Chinese speaking viewers
  • Upgrading our equipment to produce content more efficiently and to a higher standard
  • Building our own studio by renting an industrial storage space where possible

We sincerely request that capable organizations and individuals support the Australia Home program financially.
